1. Who we are
Lovako (the “Service”) is operated by UnknownHorizons s.r.o., Company ID 23276070, VAT ID CZ23276070, with its registered office at Na Folimance 2155/15, 120 00 Prague 2 – Vinohrady, Czech Republic (“UnknownHorizons”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 16 years old to use Lovako independently. If you are younger, you may use the Service only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, where permitted by applicable law. You must provide accurate information, keep your login credentials secure, and notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.
3. What Lovako does
Lovako helps you record meals and estimate calories, macronutrients, and other nutritional information, including through automated image analysis. Estimates may be incomplete or inaccurate because portion size, ingredients, preparation method, image quality, and other factors affect the result. You remain responsible for reviewing and, where appropriate, correcting entries.
4. Not medical advice
The Service is a general wellness tool. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment and is not a substitute for a doctor, registered dietitian, or other qualified professional. Do not rely on Lovako for a medical condition, allergy, eating disorder, pregnancy, medication decision, or emergency. If you have health concerns, consult a qualified professional. In an emergency, contact local emergency services immediately.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of the photos, meal descriptions, goals, and other content you submit (“User Content”). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, reproduce, and transmit User Content only as needed to operate, secure, maintain, and improve the Service, subject to our Privacy Policy.
You confirm that you have the right to submit your User Content and that it does not violate any law or third-party rights. Do not upload content that is unlawful, abusive, infringing, or contains another person’s sensitive information without their permission.
6. Acceptable use
You may not:
- misuse, disrupt, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service;
- reverse engineer or extract source code except where applicable law expressly permits it;
- use automated systems to scrape or harvest data from the Service;
- circumvent usage limits, security controls, or access restrictions;
- use the Service or its outputs to violate the rights of others or any applicable law.
7. Subscriptions and purchases
Some features may require a paid subscription or in-app purchase. Prices, billing periods, trial terms, and included features will be shown before purchase. Payments made through Apple App Store or Google Play are processed by the relevant store and are also subject to its terms. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through your store account before renewal. Refunds are handled under the store’s rules and mandatory consumer law.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, branding, text, and non-user content, is owned by UnknownHorizons or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service for its intended purpose.
9. Third-party services
Lovako may rely on app stores, hosting, artificial intelligence, analytics, crash reporting, or other third-party services. Their own terms and privacy practices may apply. We are not responsible for third-party services that we do not control, but we select and manage our providers in accordance with applicable law.
10. Availability and changes
We may update, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service to improve it, address security or legal requirements, or reflect business changes. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. Where required, we will provide reasonable notice of material changes that adversely affect paid features.
11. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Lovako and delete your account at any time through the available account controls or by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, create risk or harm, or where required by law. We will act proportionately and provide notice where reasonably possible.
12. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not warrant that nutritional estimates will be exact, that the Service will meet every individual requirement, or that all defects will be corrected. Nothing in these Terms excludes statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, UnknownHorizons will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, loss of data, loss of profits, or decisions made in reliance on nutritional estimates. Our total liability arising from the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for the Service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or EUR 50. These limits do not apply where liability cannot be limited by law, including liability for intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death, or personal injury where applicable.
14. Governing law and consumers
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence. Courts in the Czech Republic will have jurisdiction unless applicable consumer law allows or requires you to bring a claim elsewhere. Consumers in the European Union may also contact their national consumer protection authority or use any dispute resolution mechanism available under applicable law.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms. We will post the updated version and change the “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice where appropriate. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms.
